A year later....

With July now behind us, I have lost 30 pounds this year for a total of FIFTY since my heaviest. I now weigh what I did when I moved out here over 10 years ago and am well on pace to meet my goal by the end of the year!

The last two months have been summer break for Dade and I have not been keeping up with many of my goals. Much of my free time is spent trying to keep the two of us out of trouble ;) One more month of summer to go. I will be happy as far as goals go as long as I don’t gain any weight. I need to get back into a routine and once school starts that will fall into place.

July was a big month for us. The boys got a new car (pictures in the July gallery) and we finally got to do cub scout camp!

Today was the day. Dade and I took apart the broken super-automatic to see if there was a way to fix it. The shot above shows a cracked part in the corner of the brew area. The same piece on the other side (bottom of the pic) is what broke.
From what I can tell, that is the bottom portion that gets all the strain when the machine compresses the coffee into a puck to brew. Needless to say, I think the pressure would be too great for krazy glue to hold. I have all the pieces and would be willing to donate the machine to anyone that wants to chance re-attaching the broken part and securing the cracked side :)

The thing that amazed me the most about the machine was how dirty the insides were. I was really good about keeping it clean, or so I thought. It IS possible that this is all residue from the last two shots that I tried to make after it broke...

Five months down, almost 1/2 way done with the year already?

As of June 1, I have lost 27 pounds this year for a total of 48 since my heaviest. I am now only 3 or 4 pounds away from my weight when I moved out here 10 years ago. That was the least I have weighed in over 15years!

This months music goals have been moving along. I worked a bit with Ableton on my laptop, but have been spending tons of time on the iPad getting grooves down and basically having a blast!

I started working on Perl programming again this month. I’d really like to get through the llama book in the next 6-8 weeks.

With the end of May comes all Dade’s school wrap ups. The best one so far was the play “William’s Quest” that he did with his Excel class. I have posted some pictures from it as well as a short video clip.

Can you believe that FOUR months of this year are already gone?!?!

In April, I finally broke 20 pounds lost for the year. It hasn’t been a great month for loss, but at least my weight is still going down :)

I spent no time doing music or programming.... on the computer. I have been messing around quite a bit on the iPad learning all the music programs and even starting to draw again. I was thinking that in another month or two I will start trying to do a sketch a day or something like that.

After SIX months of taking a picture a day, I have noticed that most days I am much more aware of my surroundings and what their photographic qualities are. I am seeing more and more days where I wish I had a better quality camera with me...

It’s a short month for updates, maybe more next month.
